The city preserves the remaining Samurai district. It used to be a district with about 700 residences where samurai families lived. The water from springs in the center of the road was used for their daily needs.
Now, this road is 406.8 meters long, and the houses of the Yamamoto, Shinobe, and Shimada families are open to the public for free. You can see how the samurai lived and what their houses were like at that time.
