The legend about the origin has it that the great monk Gyoki came here about 1,200 years ago and built an altar for one Jizo statue. You can see about 2,000 Jizo-bosatsu statues here. This remains an example of the old synthesis of Shintoism and Buddhism. Therefore, it is said that when you visit this site and pray, you can fulfill any kind of prayer you wish, such as academic success, longevity, and significant commercial profits.

It has a small tunnel for worship called ‘Ichinen-do’ and a sacred large ginkgo tree.
