It is the remains of a hill castle in Taketa City. It is said to have been first founded 800 years ago, and about 500 years ago, the present style was built, although the main tower is gone. Now, it is a great place for strolling, with beautiful stone walls and panoramic views. In spring, the cherry blossoms on the site are very attractive. It is well known as the motif of “Kojo-no-Tsuki (The Moon Over The Ruined Castle)” by Taki Rentaro, a famous composer born nearby.
