The Kokonoe Yume Ōhashi, which opened on October 30, 2006, is a pedestrian suspension bridge measuring 390 meters in length, 173 meters in height, and 1.5 meters in width. It is the highest pedestrian-exclusive suspension bridge in Japan.

Directly below the bridge, you can see Shindō-no-Taki and Medaki—two waterfalls listed among Japan’s “100 Famous Waterfalls.” Beyond the bridge stretches the expansive forest of the Naruko River Gorge, the source of the Chikugo River, offering beautiful views in every season. In the distance, the Kuju Mountain Range—including Mount Mimata and Mount Waita—is also visible. With its breathtaking 360-degree panorama, the bridge truly lives up to its name as a “walkway in the sky”.
