The Amaterasu Railway operates a tourist trolley service on a restored section of line. Originally part of the national railway, the route was severely damaged by a typhoon and could not be rebuilt due to budget constraints. Though it now covers only two stations, it has been revived as an open-air sightseeing trolley.
The 30-minute ride passes through two short tunnels with illuminated ceilings and crosses a high iron bridge over the river, offering panoramic views of the Takachiho area.
